Babbo Elio is a beautiful family run artisan producer, rooted in the  their Santa Elio farm which is located in the rolling hills of Solignano di Castelvetro, Italy.

At the heart of the Emilian tradition there is a product that the whole world knows and loves: Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI. It's a blend of musts cooked for several days over direct heat and wine vinegars aged and refined in oak barrels. The Lást studio put the pen to work to create the label for this beautiful flagship product, working closely with studio Milano Ideas to build the design.

The design brief was focused on capturing an ancient Roman goddess delicately pouring the vinegar from a flask. The design needed to highlight the slow processes behind the product: its history, precision and tradition. Using dotwork to build this identity, the design process very much mirrored the product, keeping the artwork elegant, precise and slow, one dot at a time.
